one ingredient: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter. that's it. no preservatives, no fragrance, no added oils. nothing in, nothing out.

yes. unrefined means no bleaching, no deodorising, no hexane extraction. it's processed traditionally — cold-pressed, hand-stirred. it has a natural nutty scent and an ivory-to-yellow colour. if it smells like nothing and looks perfectly white, it's been refined.

a mild, warm, slightly nutty scent — earthy without being heavy. it fades quickly after application. if you've never used unrefined shea, it's much gentler than you'd expect.

yes, for most skin types. shea has a comedogenic rating of 0–2, which means it's unlikely to clog pores. it's especially good for dry, reactive, or eczema-prone skin. as always, patch test first.

generally yes — unrefined shea is widely used during pregnancy for stretch marks and skin elasticity. it contains no synthetic ingredients. but we always recommend checking with your doctor or midwife.

unrefined shea has a natural shelf life of 12–24 months when stored properly — away from heat and direct sunlight. each batch is labelled with a best-before date. store it in a cool, dry place and it'll last.

the women of Kebeni, a village in southern Mali. the shea nuts are hand-collected after they fall, then traditionally processed and cold-pressed. we buy directly from them — no middlemen, no brokers.

we publish the exact price paid per kilo on the product page with every batch. Batch 001's numbers will be live when the batch ships. the commitment: at minimum 2.5× the local market rate.

because "fair trade" and "ethically sourced" are phrases that have been emptied of meaning. publishing actual numbers — what we paid, what we charged, what we kept — is the only way to make the claim real. it also keeps us honest.

not yet. organic certification is on our roadmap. right now, we prioritise direct traceability and fair payment over third-party labels — though we know both matter. Batch 002 will include a certification update.
